On 10 December 1951, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended the “Midnight Matinee” gala at the London Coliseum, in aid of the National Playing Fields Association. There they met some icons, including Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Dorothy Kirsten, and Rhonda Fleming who participated in the charity event.
